Quite a while ago one of my friends, whom I was aquanted with from online games, came up with an idea to make the game "Gods of War." At the time I was programming a DirectX8 game in c++ called "Battlestorm", and was too involved in that to help out. After a few years, and now in the process of porting all my engines over to DirectX 9c and c#, I figure it was time to take another break, just one of several over the years, and became interested in making a quick web based browser game. Lo and behold, Spod was signed in under msn messenger at this precise time, and I sent him a quick message telling him I had some free time finally. So, here we are developing a hybrid of his game, which will only include a portion of his overall goals with the game.

Story Line:
Set out for a time in the distant future, where two sects of humanity is fighting over supreme control, lies a galaxy in space that has two capital ships from each section within its sphere of influence. One planet stands out among all the others, mostly from the rich and plentiful resources that are contained within the planets soil. Among these lies the key ingredients needed for power cells that drive the ships among the stars, and needed for travel. It is no surprise that both sects send most of there available resources to try to gain control of the planet, the only question is, which sect will be victorious?

Features:
Character creation will allow you to create a character that can be very personalized and not follow any pre-set templates. Skills will always be in flux, as with the real world the more you use a skill the better you become, while the longer you do not use a skill, the more it will diminish. Skills can be difficult to pick up at first, but then you gain alot of ground quickly, until you start hitting advanced areas. Squads will be formed, and characters with the command skill will be given special advantages when leading others. You will be able to create vechiles from the ground up by choosing a hull and adding features like engine, weapons, turrets, armor, accessories, cargo holds, etc.. Also, besides common vechiles found in todays world, which include the likes of aircraft, trucks, cars, tanks, helicopters, buggys, humvees, jeeps, boats, there will also be hovercraft, mech's, and spacecraft. A player based commerce and market will also be available, as well as a blackmarket. Not only will this game focus just on combat, but allow for the construction of communities, structures, bases, researching of technologies, doctors, and mechanics.
